Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stated that the educational project "Kyiv the Capital of Ukrainian Museums" would be implemented on the Day of Kyiv. The Fund of M.Tomenko, Hlavred magazine and the Commission on Culture and Tourism under Kyiv town hall organize the project.
According to M.Tomenko, the project intends to popularize the activity of all public and municipal museums of Kyiv. "First and foremost, we want to inform the directors of educational establishments about the current potential of the museums, new exhibitions and possibility of participation of pupils and students in their educational actions", he stated.
"Unfortunately, local authorities have forgotten that Kyiv has plenty of museums, therefore, at the public level we are willing to involve the scientific, research and educational potential of Kyiv museums, giving the opportunity for the pupils and students to make themselves familiar with the history, culture and traditions of Ukraine", M.Tomenko stated.
According to M.Tomenko, half of the Hlavred magazine on the Day of Kyiv will be dedicated to the museums, their exhibitions and possibility for the pupils and students to visit them free of charge. He also stated that his Fund would order extra edition of the magazine to provide every educational establishment of Kyiv with this information.
